Dalam mempelajari Bahasa Inggris, lagi – lagi kalian pasti tidak asing dengan yang namanya pronouns. Dan kali ini, saya kaan menjabarkan salah satu jenis pronouns, yaitu personal pronouns. Personal Pronouns adalah salah satu jenis kata ganti yang berfungsi sebagai pengganti untuk manusia, hewan, benda, atau hal lain. Pada dasarnya, pronoun ini dibagi menjadi beberapa jenis, yaitu:
- Berdasarkan posisi dalam kalimat (subject, object, possessive)
- Berdasarkan sudut pandang (orang pertama, kedua, ketiga)
- Berdasarkan jumlah
Sekarang, mari kita bahas satu per satu setiap pembagian personal pronouns tersebut. Saya akan mencantumkan materi dasar yaitu perubahan menuju ke personal pronouns beserta contoh – contoh kalimatnya dalam Bahasa Inggris.

Mungkin menghafalkannya tidak terlalu sulit dan tidak membutuhkan waktu yang relatif lama, tetapi ada satu hal yang mungkin membuat kalian kesulitan. Hal itu adalah tentang bagaimana cara membedakan sudut pandang orang pertama, orang kedua, dan orang ketiga. Kali ini, saya akan menjabarkan lebih lanjut agar kalian bisa membedakan sudut pandang tersebut. Silahkan disimak dan dipelajari.
Sudut pandang:
- Sudut pandang pertama yang memiliki pronouns berupa I, me, we, us akan digunakan apabila kita membuat kalimat atau berbicara dimana pemeran utamanya adalah diri kita sendiri. Jad, setiap kalimat atau pembicaraan akan diarahkan kembali kepada diri kita. Contoh: I am very happy.
- Sudut pandang kedua yang memiliki pronouns berupa you akan digunakan apabila kita membuat suatu kalimat atau berbicara kepada orang lain. Contoh: you should finished it earlier.
- Sudut pandang ketiga yang memiliki pronouns berupa she, he, it, her, him, it, they, them akan digunakan apabila kita membuat kalimat atau sedang membicarakan orang lain. Contoh: Justin (he) is a multi talent singer

3. Berdasarkan jumlah
Kalian sadari atau tidak, sebenarnya dari awal kalian juga telah mempelajari jenis pembagian pronouns yang satu ini, yaitu jumlah. Bisa kalian lihat pada tabel – tabel yang sebelumnya sudah saya cantumkan di atas terdapat pembagian pronouns menjadi singular dan plural juga. Tetapi, agar kalian bisa lebih mengerti, saya membedakannya menjadi beberapa bagian, dan saya akan mengulanginya lagi disini.

Dari awal materi, kalian pasti menemukan penggunaan you dan yours berada di dua tempat, yaitu berada di jenis singular maupun plural. Hal ini disebabkan, you dan yours ternyata tidak hanya memiliki arti sebagai kamu atau milik kamu, tetapi bisa juga diartikan sebagai kalian atau milik kalian. Yours bisa saja disebutkan untuk menunjukkan adanya suatu hal yang menjadi milik sebuah grup. Mari kita ambil contoh dari kalimat di atas, The choice to keep continuing the concert is all yours. Disini bisa saja kata yours berarti adalah sebuah grup paduan suara. Bisa dipahami sampai disini?
