Kembali lagi dengan pelajaran mengenai Future Tense. Kali ini kita akan membahas salah satu varian lain dari future tense yaitu future perfect tense. Untuk membahasnya mari kita telusuri dengan baik, mulai dari pengertian, cara penggunaan, serta contoh dari penggunaan future perfect tense, agar ketika kalian menggunakan tense ini, kalian tidak keliru lagi dan tertukar dengan future tense ataupun perfect tense yang lainnya.

Future perfect tense merupakan bentuk tenses yang berupa gabungan dari future tense yang menunjukan sesuatu yang akan terjadi di masa mendatang dan perfect tense yang menunjukikan bahwa kegiatan yang dibicarakan dalam kalimat tersebut sudah dilakukan. Tense yang satu ini digunakan untuk membuat kalimat yang menerangkan sesuatu yang diduga atau diprediksikan akan terjadi di masa depan, namun prediksi tersebut diberikan sebelum waktu berbicara.
Singkatnya, kalian akan menggunakan tenses ini untuk memperkirakan kapan sesuatu akan selesai. Namun tentu saja itu hanya salah satu fungsi dari future perfect tense. Kita adakan mempelajari fungsi lainnya dari future perfect tense, beserta bagaimana cara menggunakannya di bawah ini.
Syarat – Syarat Pengunaan Future Perfect Tense
Dalam membuat sebuah kalimat dengan tenses, maka ada beberapa syarat yang harus dipenuhi untuk membuat kalimat tersebut sempurna dan sesuai dengan tenses yang ingin kita gunakan. Dalam menggunkana tenses, ada yang disebut sebagai auxiliary verb. Apakah itu auxiliary verb?
Auxiliary verb pada umumnya digunakan sebelum verb, gunanya adalah untuk menambahkan makna dan memodifikasi makna dari kata kerja utama dari dalam kalimat itu sendiri.
Pada future tense, auxilary verb terletak pada kata will atau dalam beberapa kasus bisa juga shall, keduanya, merupakan auxiliary verbs untuk future tense. Sementara yang kita bahasa saat ini, future perfect tense, merupakan gabungan dari future tense dan perfect tense. Karena itu, apabila auxiliary verb dari future tense adalah will atau shall, maka auxiliary verb dari perfect tense adalah has/have.
Rumus Future Perfect Tense
Future Tense + Perfect Tense = Future Perfect Tense
Will + Have = Will have
itu adalah penerjemahan sederhana dari auxiliary yang digunakan dalam future perfect tense. Syarat tersebut tidak boleh dilupakan dalam membuat kalimat dengan tenses tertentu.

Penulisan Future Perfect Tense
Dalam penggunaan have, auxiliary verb tersebut tidak terpengaruh dengan kata ganti orang ketiga (he, she, it). Sehingga ketika kalian menggunakan salah satu dari kata ganti tersebut, kalian tidak perlu mengganti have dengan has, karena terlebih dahulu sudah diawali dengan will.
Contoh Future Perfect Tense:
- I will have told her the news tonight.
(Malam ini atau sebelumnya, berita itu sudah saya sampaikan pada dia) - By the time you are 22, you will have graduated from college.
(Dia sudah lulus pada umur 22 atau sebelumnya) - She will have baked the cake tonight.
(Sebelum malam ini, dia sudah selesai memanggang kue). - At 6pm, he will have watched the shows for 24 hours.
(Dia akan menonton selama 24 jam pada kulu 6) - On Thursday, the flower will have reached the age of 3 years.

Berikut ini adalah fungsi dari future perfect tense dan penggunaanya dalam kalimat Bahasa Inggris:
1. Fungsi Pertama Future Perfect Tense
Kita menggunakan future perfect tense untuk menjelaskan sesuatu yang akan selesai, namun tidak pasti kapan.Kata kunci dari future perfect tense yang digunakan untuk fungsi ini adalah ‘by.’
Kalian juga bisa mengacak urutan penulisannya, apakah kalian mau menggunakan present simple terlebih dahulu atau future perfect tense terlebih dahulu, kalian bisa memilih.
Namun, ada kalanya kalian harus menempatkan salah satunya lebih dulu. Misalnya dalam contoh kasus seperti ini:

- Dalam kalimat positif, tidak masalah apakah kalian menaruh future perfect tense terlebih dahulu atau menaruh simple present terlebih dahulu.
Dalam kalimat positif, urutan tidak berpengaruh. Begitupun bila kalian hanya menggunakan future perfect tense maka kalimat kalian masih dianggap benar, karena present tense kalian bisa digantikan dengan keterangan waktu.

Kalimat Tanya dalam Future Perfect Tense
- Begitupun ketika kalian membuat kalimat tanya, maka sebaiknya gunakanlah future perfect terlebih dahulu.
Karena bila kalian mendahulukan simple present, maka kalimat kalian akan terkesan kurang formal dibandingkan apabila kalian menuliskan future perfect tense terlebih dahulu. Dan jangan, tetap gunakan have meskipun kata ganti orang ketiga bertemu dengan have, jangan digantikan dengan has.

2. Fungsi Kedua Future Perfect Tense
Future Perfect Tense bisa digunakan juga untuk mempersingkat keterangan waktu yang kalian berikan, sehingga kalian tidak perlu menulis terlalu panjang. Misalnya, kalian bisa mengubah keterangan waktu yang berisi bulan, tanggal, dan tahun, menjadi hanya keterangan hari atau keterangan lain yang lebih singkat. Singkatnya, future perfect tense bisa mempersingkat kalimat yang hanya menggunakan perfect tense, sehingga lebih efisien.
Perlu kalian perhatikan, yang akan kalian buat lebih singkat adalah keterangan waktunya, tidak selalu kalimatnya.

3. Fungsi Ketiga Future Perfect Tense
Kita juga bisa menggunakan future perfect untuk menjelaskan berapa lama sesuatu terjadi sampai akhirnya berlanjut pada kata kerja lainnya atau pada apa yang terjadi kemudian di masa mendatang. Biasanya, kata kerja dari kalimat ini adalah menggunakan ‘for’. Sama seperti fungsi pertama, maka dibutuhkan dua buah tenses di sini, satu lagi adalah simple present tense. Biasanya simple present tense digunakan setelah kata when.

Perbedaan Future Perfect Tense dan Future Perfect Tense
Future perfect tense hanya dapat digujankan apabila akan ada kejadian selanjutnya di masa depan dan juga kejadian tersebut harus mempunya tenggang waktu sampai terjadi atau memiliki deadline. Apabila tidak memiliki deadline, maka hanya akan menjadi simple future tense, bukan lagi future perfect tense.
